About the artist
Borko Petrovic is a Serbian visual artist whose abstract and expressive paintings explore the inner life of human beings. Through dynamic movement, a blend of colors, and a unique texture, Borko succeeds in stopping time and capturing motion on a static canvas. The constant motif in his work is the human being, examined through relationships and emotions. His latest painting series, Captured time, emerged from years of artistic experience and experimentation with various techniques and styles.
His main aspiration is to create energy during the painting process. The lines in this new series represent movements that never end. They generate a sense of motion and evoke in the viewer feelings of vitality, energy, and the uniqueness of a fleeting moment. Movement and stillness are reconciled, as are transience and eternity.
He has exhibited widely across Europe, North America, and Asia, and his works are held in numerous private and institutional collections internationally.
„The act of painting instantly engages senses and emotions, paints become a sensual touch of living matter, traveling at high speed towards the moment of completion of a painting. The truthfulness of these paintings liberates viewer’s emotions and enters him into an energized vortex of color. Borko succeeds in painting that which is most difficult: life itself!“ – Kosta Bunuševac
